Mississippi Farm Raised Catfish

There is not a better time to Buy American, Buy Mississippi Farm Raised Catfish.  Only U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish are grown using high-quality standards and safe practices. 

In 2016, $169 million value in production was brought into our state’s economy by catfish raised on 150 Farm Family Operations.  Leflore County was the top producing county.

Be sure to read the label to make sure you are getting Mississippi Farm Raised Catfish instead of inferior fish from other countries that have invaded our local food markets.

Bronzed Catfish

4 MS Farm Raised Catfish Fillets

2 teaspoons paprika

2 teaspoons dried oregano

2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

Pinch cayenne pepper

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 teaspoon butter

In a small bowl, stir spices together until well mixed.

Sprinkle both sides of fish with spice mixture, patting onto fillets.

Heat oil and butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

When it begins to bubble, add fillets.  Cook until fish flakes, about 4 minutes per side.
